I’m a research scientist and lab director for major, minor and trace element analysis (ICP-MS laboratory) at the Institute of Geosciences, Christian-Albrechts University Kiel. My two main research areas are
- Development of analytical in situ routines for simultaneous concentration and isotope ratio determination for biosciences, geosciences and forensic applications, including the development and demonstration of non-matrix matched quantification strategies for isotope ratio and concentration measurements.
- Change in the abundance of stable metals and metalloids (fractionation) during uptake, relocation and deposition in organisms to understand and constrain environmental influences on the trace element and isotope ratio signatures.
My research is supported by the German Research Foundation DFG (468590788), and previously supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation (P2EZP2_168836) and Marie Curie Actions (IsoNose.eu, REA grant agreement n° [608069]).
